Primary responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring that design and coding best practices are used in the development of Blackboard Design System
• Breaking down large/complex problems and being involved in the process of designing and implementing solutions
• Contributing to shared UI libraries and implementing UI/UX for various platform capabilities
• Staying on top of the latest technologies, tools, and techniques
• Shaping the future of eLearning through innovation on the next generation of products
• Working effectively in an Agile team to deliver quality products

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

• A strong background in development with experience in combining technology and design to create inviting, easy-to-use solutions for consumers
• A minimum of 3-4 years of experience with developing single-page JavaScript applications and frameworks such as React, Redux, or Angular
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related relevant field
• Passionate about and has an appreciation for impeccable design and simple UI/UX and is able to review designs and provide feedback
• Highly efficient w/ HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience with authentication and access management protocols and products (SAML, OIDC, OAuth)
• Experience developing applications for a continuous delivery lifecycle
• Software development experience in large scale, cloud environments
• Experience with Domain Driven Design and Service oriented architecture
• Broad knowledge of developing and consuming RESTful web services
• Strong problem-solving skills in large, scalable, complicated systems
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to participate in 1-2 projects independently at different stages with general supervision and willing to receive feedback/guidance
• Team player with excellent communication, cooperation, and presentation skills
• Passionate about honing your current skill set and increasing it for personal growth and to support the team
• Highly organized and motivated
• High standards of accountability, decision, schedules, and quality of work
• Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above
